Use the Right Amount (Less Is ALWAYS More)

Honestly, chucking loads in won’t make them last longer. In fact, it can smother the scent preventing the product from properly heating up and can waste your sizzlers. For most room sizes and burners, one teaspoon is plenty. Got a bigger burner with a wider dish? Two teaspoons should do the trick. You don’t need a mountain of the crystals! Spread them evenly where you can and top up as needed and stir with a wooden spoon or lollipop stick.

Pick the Right Burner

If your burner’s too hot, it’ll blast the fragrance off faster than you can say “where’s me smell gone?” Tealight burners give a stronger scent throw but use a 4-hour tealight, not an 8-hour monster. For a longer, gentler fragrance, an electric burner with heat settings is your mate. It keeps things steady and stops the sizzlers fragrance evaporating too fast. We recommend the newer burners that use LED bulbs and a heat plate below the dish.

Keep Airflow Just Right

A bit of air movement helps spread the scent, but too much isn’t ideal. Keep windows closed and avoid popping your burner near draughts or fans. Your nose will thank you.

Clean Your Burner (No Mingin’ Residues or Wax)

Used sizzlers leave a bit of oil behind which can mess with the new scent. Once they’ve stopped smelling, let the burner cool, empty the used up sizzlers and wipe it with a damp cloth. Takes two seconds, keeps things fresh and if you have used wax in your burner previously, ensure it is ALL gone!

Store Them Properly

Keep your sizzlers in an airtight container or sealed bag, somewhere cool and dry with no direct sunlight. Otherwise, you’ll open the bag and wonder where the scent’s done a runner to.

Rotate Scents (Give Your Nose a Treat)

Change things up now and again. Let your burner cool fully before adding new sizzlers. Rotating scents stops your nose getting used to the same smell and thinking it’s gone when it hasn’t. Pure magic.
